51KHMEWZ8ZL. SL160 Europe by Bike: 18 Tours Geared for Discovery Europe by Bike: 18 Tours Geared for Discovery Customer Review: A wonderful Adventure
I used an earlier edition of this book for a trip from Genoa to Barcelona in September 1989, and for a trip from Lisbon to Tangiers in May 1990. I was 23/24 at the time, and had never toured on my own prior to those trips. The book was perfect: good advice for purchasing/maintaining a tour bike, good description of routes and side trips, good advice on special little things to see and do along the way (I think I used it in conjunction with the relevant ‘Lets Go’ guides). I had two fantastic adventures. Somewhere along the way I lost my book so, nearly 20 years later, I am buying a new copy to share with my husband and daughter.
Customer Review: Cassette tapes? In need of an update
The copy I was looking at had been reprinted in 2005, so I assumed it would be pretty up to date. I was a bit taken aback when they suggested that I could make cassette mix tapes of songs to give to friends I met along the way. Even moreso when they were telling how you could arrange in advance with friends to have mail sent to you at certain post offices you would pass by along the way, and how nice it was to be able to keep in touch that way. Also they gave addresses you could write to asking for maps and tourist information to be mailed to you before your trip. And then there was mention of cycling through Czechoslovakia. On closer inspection it was a second edition that had five reprints between 1993 and 2005, but they’ve still managed to leave it completely un-updated.

51RoskvLKjL. SL160 Put Me Back on My Bike: In Search of Tom Simpson Put Me Back on My Bike: In Search of Tom Simpson Described by Velo magazine as “the best cycling biography ever written,” this is the definitive account of the life of Tom Simpson, Britain’s greatest cyclist.
Customer Review: A fair and balanced retrospective biography
A quick and engaging book for anyone interested in professional cycling and a historical perspective on one of the most impactful events of TDF history. Written without judgement and very matter of fact regarding drug use and how the "wink and a nod" attitude about it was so pervasive in the early 1960’s cycling scene.
Customer Review: Ride on!
As a bike-mad teenager growing up in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Tom Simpson was the closest thing to a childhood hero that I had. His racing exploits used to make the headlines in the local paper, and I went to the cinema to see the Movietone News reports of his Classic wins in Europe. On a gas-pipe special bike that was far too big for me I tore around the lanes thinking that I was almost as fast as Tom. Along with thousands of other naive bike racing fans I stood out in the rain the day he was buried in Harworth, and cried, and did not understand.

51DYRMX9G1L. SL160 How to Build a West Coast Chopper Kit Bike (Motorbooks Workshop) How to Build a West Coast Chopper Kit Bike (Motorbooks Workshop) This book presents a step-by-step guide to building a West Coast Chopper’s C.F.L. kit. Kit choppers are hot commodities. While few people can afford to buy a custom-built chopper from one of the high-end builders like Jesse James-bikes that often sell for $100,000 or more-many can afford to buy such bikes in kit form. Because of this, all the high-end builders sell their creations in kit form. For example, while Jesse James might build perhaps a dozen custom bikes per year, he sells hundreds of chopper kits. The same is true of any number of other builders like Matt Hotch, Cyril Huze, and Paul Yaffe. Authored by Mike Seate and featuring the photography of Joe Appel, this book is a step-by-step how-to guide for anyone building a kit chopper.
Customer Review: Kit Bike
If you are building a kit bike using a WCC frame there is some useful information here.
Customer Review: Wow, this is a joke. It’s not a how to
This book is not a how to, it’s a 143 pages of telling you that you should only buy West Coast Choppers parts and a list of other high dollar parts from suppliers. It tells a little about paint prep, but nothing about the things a person will encounter building a bike.Nothing what so ever, read this and you will think lay the parts on the floor and they will just jump into one piece. Wow,this is BS! Watch the bike build shows on TV and get 100 times more info. This was publish to take atvantage of the jump on the Jesse train. I would love to hear his true thoughts. Don’t waste your money.
