Customer Review: Very comfortable & well made
K2 Bikes has some problems. Their current parent company seems to have gone out of business, & as of 09 April 09, there’s no answer at the Hauppage, NY K2 offices, but if you’re looking for a well-made & set-up comfort bike, this is outstanding, plus it’s a good-looking sumbitch(a salesman at my local bike shop said "Wow, that’s a great looking bike!").
I replaced the stock pedals with Wellgo LU 994 pedals for my big feet, and replaced the stock tires with Kenda Kross Plus Front/Rear Slick XC Tire, 26 x 1.95" for lower rolling friction & better cornering and Planet Bike Freddy Fenders Hardcore to keep the spray off me. The stock seatpost, while offering good suspension, cannot be adjusted for seat tilt, so I replaced it with a more adjustable post, and since I’m a large person, I replaced the stock seat with Serfas Full Suspension Cruiser Bicycle Saddle which is REALLY comfy. I bought a really nice Blackburn Quadrant/Mars 3 Combo Light Set for them late nights coming back from the pub, but there’s the rub: The great looking "Comfort Ride" handlebars are elliptical so it’s really tough to mount headlights, computer, siren, or Acme BB machine gun(just kidding), unless you opt for something like a Minoura Swing Grip, Bicycle Handlebar Attachment, Large, 4.5", Silver, which I did. Finally, to practice safe parking, I splurged onOnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable. If nothing else, I can soundly thump any miscreant over the head with the security cable.
Still, I haven’t "loved" a bike for a lot of years, since I sold my beloved 25" frame Motobecane to a 5′2" girl(what can I say? She "had" to have it, & I needed to make a car payment), but this is getting close. Now all I need is a Tazer for those inconsiderant drivers out there. BTW, I really couldn’t justify the extra $100 for the Easy Street Deuce. I doubt if you could, either
